Oily skin is caused by excess sebum , called seborrhea. It manifests itself mainly on the face and upper back, and is characterized by:
- shines ;
- thick, dull skin ;

enlarged pores ;
- the presence of numerous comedones, more commonly called blackheads .
Skin can become oily for a variety of reasons, including:
- hormonal reasons;
- because of pollution;
- in times of stress;
- due to the use of excessively stripping cosmetic products.
With aging, oily skin generally presents few but deep and marked wrinkles.
